Notable Results

  • Architecture: conversion from ColdFusion to PHP
  • Data: sychronize two unrelated, offline databases with site
  • WLCN Revenue: $42 million in 2009

Since 2003, our primary function has been to serve as resource for CLIA's web and technology resource. We inherited a poorly-design and built website from another vendor at the beginning of the decade and made incremental improvements to the site over several years to accommodate CLIA's growing needs.

In 2007, we developed "Virtual World's Largest Cruise Line" project, allowing CLIA members to create their own "mini-site" to sell cruise vacations. Virtual WLCN alone has experienced a 300% year-over-year growth rate, with 2009 revenues reaching $42 million. 2010 revenue is expected to top $50 million.

The need to keep pace with technology led to a ground-up rebuild of the entire CLIA website in 2009, which presented a number of challenges, including:

  • Converting applications from ColdFusion to PHP
  • Integrating records from two unrelated databases and importing the results to Drupal
  • Maintaining continuity with the old website during development
  • Developing a location search that respects and rewards attributes essential to CLIA's business model.

In 2010, we will bring continual improvements to the website; current plans include a revamp of the membership system and development of web services, among others.
